The AU Review – New Western Sydney Festival

Pencil in the date Amigos! The AU Review details the new Western Sydney Festival that has over 40 Food Trucks in attendance, Cantina included of course. Viva Food Trucks! Article by Chris Singh.

Food festivals are all the rage now, and Western Sydney is finally getting an onslaught of them. The latest is Off the Eaten Truck Festival, a mammoth sized event presented by Rooty Hill RSL and The Bearded Bakers. Over two days over 40 of the city’s best food trucks will be rolling along to the event to pop up along with a stacked lineup of entertainment.

Trucks involved aren’t ones to be scoffed at either, big players like Mister Gee, Happy As Larry, Agape, Cantina Movil, Mama Linh’s, and of course Knafeh will all be there, feeding an expected crowd of 20,000 hungry guests. The aim of bringing the community and operators together for one big celebration of great good, great drink, and great entertainment has given rise to the event.

“For too long Western Sydney has been a forgotten market when it comes to food festivals”, said Ameer El-issa of The Bearded Bakers. “We are excited to have the opportunity to bring together a collective of operators who are all like-minded – who love food, and love bringing it to people. Shared food and shared experiences are a great way to bring people together as a community, so this is a great meeting place that will appeal to everyone – families and foodies, and of course the creatives who will be inspired by the theme and decor”.

There’s also the noble goal of raising awareness for men’s health issues in Western Sydney, a big reason why these minds came together to stage Off the Eaten Truck.

Gates will open at 11am on Saturday 19th of November and once again on Sunday 20th November. Entry will be free although gold coin donations will be welcomed and will all go straight to charity partner Movember. Transport will be taken care of by regular shuttle buses running from the nearby train station, and free car parking will be available in surrounding streets.

The full line up will be announced soon but for now head along to the officialFacebook Event for any updates, or visit the festival’s website. The location of the event will be Rooty Hill RSL, 55 Sherbrooke Street, Rooty Hill.
